Meet The Founder

Nijah Wilson is the founder of Island Echoes Health, a care coordination platform designed to help diaspora families stay connected to their loved ones’ healthcare across borders. Her work is grounded in both professional healthcare experience and personal lived insight.

The idea for Island Echoes Health began with her own family. While supporting her grandmother in Jamaica, Nijah experienced the challenges many families face when trying to manage care from a distance. Appointments were difficult to track, follow up was inconsistent, and important health updates often depended on urgent calls or last minute travel. She realized that families were sending money but still lacked visibility, coordination, and peace of mind.

That experience revealed a larger gap. Many diaspora families navigate healthcare systems abroad without structure, reliable communication, or ongoing oversight. Nijah founded Island Echoes Health to create a model that brings organization, transparency, and partnership between families and local providers.

Nijah holds a Master of Health Administration and has worked across healthcare operations, grants management, patient coordination, and federal health policy environments. Her experience includes care coordination in high volume clinical settings, managing multi million dollar grant portfolios, and supporting complex beneficiary casework within federal healthcare programs.

Through Island Echoes Health, she is building infrastructure that strengthens continuity of care, supports caregivers remotely, and improves outcomes across Caribbean communities. The platform reflects her commitment to health equity, system level solutions, and culturally grounded care models that serve families today while investing in future generations.

Nijah is currently leading the pilot development of Island Echoes Health, working alongside families and provider partners to establish structured care coordination workflows and measurable impact. Her work reflects a commitment to building sustainable health infrastructure that supports caregivers today while investing in prevention and resilience for future generations.
